Discovering Amistad is proud to participate in a historic gathering in the Big Easy for the inaugural Amistad Collaboration: The Amistad African, Always Free symposium.
This week, representatives from institutions and organizations across the nation that steward different pieces of the Amistad legacy came together to connect, share research, and deepen collective understanding of this vital history. Hosted by the Amistad Research Center, this first-of-its-kind conference marks an exciting new chapter in collaborative history-keeping, educational outreach, and preservation.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the Amistad Research Center for welcoming us and hosting an inspiring, impactful conference.
