Connecting Legacies: Discovering Amistad Joins Educational Collaboration in New Orleans

Discovering Amistad is participating in a national gathering of Amistad teaching institutions in New Orleans. Hosted by the Amistad Research Center at Tulane University, the conference brings together museums, historians, and public history leaders to explore the world’s largest collection of primary sources related to the Amistad rebellion and court case.

Held during the Amistad Research Center’s 60th Anniversary, the event marks six decades of preserving African American and African diaspora history. Discovering Amistad staff will engage directly with rare archival materials and strengthen peer connections to enhance how we teach this essential history.
