Join us at for a powerful presentation led by Discovering Amistad that connects the Amistad story with Connecticut’s legacy of courage, justice, and community. Together, we will explore how the voices of the 53 Africans, and the abolitionists who stood with them, challenge us to confront forgotten history, reclaim untold narratives, and move toward healing and belonging today. Through storytelling, reflection, and dialogue, participants will discover how lessons from the past can inspire freedom, equity, and hope in our present. The mission of Discovering Amistad is to connect people of all ages with the Amistad story, motivating them to act and work to change systems that perpetuate racism, to ensure human rights for all.
